Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026. This policy explains what personal information Webscales collects, why, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have.

Webscales (“Webscales,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website webscales.ca (the “Site”) and provides website design, search engine optimization (SEO), and marketing automation services (the “Services”). We are based in Montréal, Québec. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our Site or contact us. It is intended to comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25).

This mailing address and contact information also serve as our sender identification for email and text-message (SMS) communications, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

1. Person responsible for your information

Under Québec's Law 25, the person responsible for the protection of personal information at Webscales is Samir Dahmane. You may contact this person for any privacy question or request, or to exercise the rights described below, at samir@webscales.ca or 438-221-1068.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide to us. When you submit our quote or contact form, opt in through our on-site chat/opt-in widget, or email us directly, we collect the information you choose to give us — typically your name, business name, email address, phone number, and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, including:

  • Your IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages you view, links you click, and how you interact with the Site
  • Referring website and the date and time of your visit

3. Cookies and tracking technologies

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, understand how it is used, and measure and improve our advertising. The categories we use are:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function and be secure.
  • Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Advertising — used to measure and personalize the ads we run (e.g., the Meta Pixel).

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings and opt out of most interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada.

4. Advertising and the Meta Pixel

We advertise on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram). To measure and improve those ads, our Site uses the Meta Pixel, a tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. The Meta Pixel may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device information, and the actions you take on our Site (for example, viewing a page or submitting a form).

Meta may match this information to your Facebook or Instagram account and use it to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, show you relevant ads, and build advertising audiences. For details on how Meta processes this data and the controls available to you, see Meta's Privacy Policy and your Facebook ad preferences.

5. SMS / text messaging

If you choose to opt in through the chat/opt-in widget on our Site, you may receive text (SMS) messages from Webscales. Our SMS program works as follows:

  • How we collect your number. We collect your mobile number when you provide it and opt in through the opt-in widget on our Site. We do not enroll you in our SMS program without your express consent.
  • What we send. We use your number to send marketing and promotional text messages about our services, offers, and updates.
  • No sharing of your number or consent. Your mobile phone number and your SMS consent are not shared with, or sold to, any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
  • Message frequency and rates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • How to opt out or get help. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at samir@webscales.ca.
  • Consent is not a condition of purchase. You are not required to consent to receive text messages in order to buy any product or use any service from us.

Consistent with PIPEDA and Québec's Law 25, you may withdraw your consent to receive SMS messages at any time, and you may request access to, or deletion of, the personal information associated with your SMS enrollment by contacting us.

6. How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide quotes and proposals
  • To deliver, maintain, and improve our Services and the Site
  • To communicate with you about your project or requests
  • To send marketing communications, including email and SMS, where you have consented
  • To measure, operate, and improve our marketing and advertising
  • To detect, prevent, and address security issues and fraud
  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations

We collect, use, and disclose your personal information with your consent (express or implied) and as otherwise permitted or required by law. By submitting a form, opting in through our widget, or contacting us, you consent to our handling of your information as described here. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us — this may limit our ability to provide certain Services.

8. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf, and as required by law:

  • Hosting & security — Cloudflare (site delivery, security, and logs)
  • Analytics — Google (Google Analytics)
  • Advertising — Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram)
  • Messaging & communications — our email, form, and SMS/chat providers, used to receive your messages and to deliver communications you have consented to
  • Legal & safety — where required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or to protect our rights, and in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or sale

As stated above, your mobile phone number and SMS consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing.

9. Storage and international transfers

Some of our service providers (including Meta, Google, and Cloudflare) may store or process your information on servers located outside Québec and Canada, including in the United States. As a result, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives a comparable level of protection wherever it is processed.

10. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to provide our Services, and to meet our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

11. How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, or modification — including encryption in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Withdraw your consent to our use of your information
  • Request deletion of your information, or that we stop disseminating it or de-index it
  • Request a copy of the information you provided in a structured, commonly used technological format (data portability)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at samir@webscales.ca. We will respond within the timeframes required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

13. Automated decision-making

We do not use your personal information to make a decision about you based exclusively on automated processing.

14. Children's privacy

The Site and Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Our Site may link to third-party websites, including the websites of businesses we have built or worked with. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; we encourage you to review their own privacy policies.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be posted here, and your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
